Redmill is in Central Brittany about 40 minutes west of Rennes, just over an hour from St Malo. The best value crossing is Portsmouth to Le Havre as long as you book it early enough.

It costs anything from £50 to £500 to take your car across the channel. Sailing into Calais or Boulogne is a lot cheaper than the western channel sailings. But, it's no frills shuttles versus overnight cruise ferries. Followed by a 5 or 6 hour drive. Your call. Arrive tired and stressed from the journey - expect no sympathy.
