Wip's getting impatientThe fish are in wonderful condition.

Our rules tend to keep it that way. Redmill anglers set their own high standards so we don't need too many.

No baitboats.
3 rods maximum.

No braided mainline except on markers or spods.
No leadcore. Tungsten impregnated leaders are allowed at the moment.
No curved longshank hooks.
No KORDA lead clips
.
No nuts or shelf-life boilies.
Don't bring once-a-year holiday anglers.
Please ask questions.

LEAD CLIPS are very dangerous - unless used very carefully and selectively. We had 4 fish tethered fish luckily rescued last year. All 4 leads that hadn't come off were on Korda lead clips. Possibly an element of statistical probability as they probably sell more than anyone else. One rubber was pushed on too hard. But, there is a serious design flaw. The "corner" isn't smooth enough (see picture). On one of the tethered "semi" fixed lead systems recovered the rubber was just touched on but the lead still wouldn't come off - the size and texture of the lead swivel just wouldn't go over the corner.

If you've had the odd restless night over "what happens if I crack off or get snagged?", then you might want to think about alternative lead setups. If you haven't, then you probably don't care, and we'd rather you didn't come.

The carp have soft mouths. They're fit and heavy.
Barbed hooks lose less fish and do less mouth damage. Forget barbless unless you plan to use lead clips incorrectly.
Small hooks = hook pulls.
Through action rods lose a lot less fish than beachcasting billiard cues. 3lb TC is ample.
